EDIT: Corrected a silly mistake I made in the subject for this post. The last shirt is from Arteest, not Pyknic.
4th Amendment Wear is clever new project started in protest against the air-travel regulations imposed by the TSA in the United States. These t-shirts are printed with a special metallic ink which will show up on the x-ray images produced by the controversial full-body scanners, displaying the 4th Amendment in all its glory across your luminescent ribcage. While I’m not sure how practical or effective this idea is, I can certainly sympathize with the sentiment — it makes me glad that I’m not a big fan of planes. Wearing one of these shirts will certainly spark attention. And it’ll cost you — these shirts don’t run cheap, at $45 each.
If you like the cheekiness of the idea, but prefer it a little subtler (and cheaper), I recommend Threadless’ take on the same subject! (This shirt is also only $5, thanks to the clearance sale.)

I discovered aestro a few months ago. A new indie brand with but three shirts to its name, aestro hasn’t seen much press since its launch. A shame, since I really dig their space-themed offerings. While I adore the majestic beauty of the photo in “To the Stars“, and the excellent graphic design in “The Sun“, “Planet Invasion” is the shirt which caught my eye the most. The cartoony, faintly retro art style, combined with the hulking one-eyed monster, reminds me a lot of The Powerpuff Girls — a favorite girlhood show of mine. I also like the arrangement of the design, which evokes the look of comic book panels.

…Speaking of comic books! This is a new tee from Arteest, a French artist collaboration t-shirt site (warning: there is no English version!). Basically, these guys team up with artists and designers to produce limited edition collections. Their latest collab is with an artist named only as “DA”. DA’s designs are clearly influenced by classic comic book covers. “Lady Babat” appears to be a fusion of Batman and the pop world’s modern darling, Lady Gaga. I’m a big fan of the simple but effective combination of deep purple and lime green — it stands out well and complements the art.
