It’s no surprise that Threadless is still popular; they just never slow down. Just look at the tees from today’s release. These shirts represent some true design talent at work in a multitude of styles. In fact, I could say something good at every new tee from this release, but I don’t want to overflow this post with text.

Ling Heng Swee, who has more than a few Threadless prints under his belt (to put it lightly), returns with another beach-themed design. This design, “Never-ending Challenge“, comes on the heels of the equally excellent “The Beach“. The designs are similar in their subject matter and all-over prints, but otherwise they are quite different stylistically. Whereas the latter is soft and serene, the former is daring and exciting; the detailed, bright blue waves contrast wonderfully with the white tee. I also like how they line up on a slight diagonal across the chest and shoulders. An incredible design for the summer!
I was also excited to see biotwist’s “…Well I’m Just As Confused As You Are” print, as this is a design I took the time to personally vote for. The design draws a visual similarity between an astronaut and a deep-sea diver. I love how the gestures are drawn, allowing the figures to come to life despite being masked. I also like the decision the artist made to switch up the placement of the astronaut and diver, adding to the feeling of playful confusion in the piece. The choice of a purple tee is great, too.
Finally, there’s this fantastic Select shirt by Nicholas Tassone, “Excavation“. It depicts a section of the planet in terms of flat, sheet-like layers. The photo textures are beautiful and make this piece seem like something that should be hanging on your wall in a study or something. A very clever, well thought-out concept with stunning execution. I’m definitely snagging one next time there’s a sale.
