I don’t make a habit of writing about many pop culture/movie tee sites, simply because so many of the designs are recycled and reused with no real creativity — obvious attempts to cash in on the popularity of certain films. What I like about Found Item is that it is a homegrown project started by a guy named Adam who simply wanted a shirt he saw in a movie, but couldn’t find anywhere for purchase. After this “I Love Toxic Waste” shirt was created, Adam followed suit with other classic movies. The vast majority of these shirts come from older films and have a great vintage feel.
The guys behind Found Item put a lot of time into researching and reproducing the original props as faithfully as possible. I can’t really vouch for this as I’m not much of a movie buff (and have admittedly not seen any of the movies their shirts are from) but from their personal descriptions, I can tell that it’s something of great importance to them. This is what Travis of Found Item told me:
