I just got an e-mail from Sam Iravani of FAQ Clothing — a personal favorite — letting me know that the brand has just unveiled a site revamp and two new collections. The new website is 100% Flash-based and features some slick content-sliding action. I usually hate it when sites go Flash-only as it tends to impede usability, but I like the way everything comes together here. My only criticism is that the bottom appears to cut off when viewed on a smaller monitor. (The screenshot shows what it looks like on my widescreen laptop.)
In any case, it’s definitely better branding and an enormous improvement over the old Big Cartel site; just looking at this site, you automatically get the feeling that this is a modern, pop-arty fashion brand. And that’s just what FAQ is!
Like I mentioned earlier, the revamp is accompanied by two new collections. For those who are unfamiliar with FAQ, collections are based around a certain theme or visual style. If you like your tees simple but unique, this new “Transmutation” collection is for you; it mixes architecture with discarded images, resulting in an interesting series of collages that look damn cool on shirts. (Plus, they have woman-sized shirts! Insert squeal of delight here.)
Soccer/football fans will want to check out the “Mini World Cup” collection, a series of designs based on the flags of famous teams. I’ll be the first to admit that I could care less about sports or athletic competitions of any sort, so the only real reason I like these designs is because they’re just really neat pieces of abstract art. The nations featured include Germany, Brazil, Spain, and Italy, and all four designs are equally mindblowing. If you think so too, you can get a “World Cup Mystery Box” (that box in the lower right) which gets you all four tees for a reasonable $60.
This is the place where I’d plug our exclusive coupon with FAQ, but sadly the new site doesn’t appear to take discount codes.
Unfortunate, but don’t let that deter you from checking them out!

Very cool. A possible play on international flags?
