Argh, the spring semester just isn’t being too kind to me this year. Sorry, guys! I also ran into a rather annoying problem where not all of my email was forwarding to my inbox, hence the large delay in posting new exclusive deals. As you can see, though, that issue has been fixed — look forward to another batch of exclusive deal post, comin’ right at ya.
Altman Tees is a new company looking to get a good start, and we here at Tee Junction are happy to oblige. The company namesake and designer, Richard Altman, was nice enough to give Tee Junc readers an exclusive 15% off coupon, valid till the end of March: TJTS.
Currently, Altman Tees has six bold designs up for sale, all based on abstract pen-and-ink drawings by Richard. Each design is based on an idea or concept related to the creative process, such as “Aspire” or “Tangent”. Richard hopes that his shirts will inspire others to explore their own creative ideas — as an artist myself, this is certainly something I can relate to! More art in this world is never a bad thing. If you’re interested in the ideas behind this brand, I recommend checking out their About page. Here’s an excerpt:
AltmanTees is a unique brand of t-shirt designed by artist, Richard Altman. The eye-catching tees utilize bold colors and creative designs to introduce a new genre of expression to the indie tee scene.
Engineered to spread AltmanTee’s message of Fearless Expression, the artful designs are iconic reminders that we’re all endowed with special creative abilities we need to discover, develop and fearlessly express.
Since tees are used to promote ideas, messages and slogans, and serve as billboards for graphic expressions, why not use them as a platform to remind people to nurture their own creative abilities.
My favorite shirt is “Social” — although I’m not too fond of the yellow-on-brown color scheme, I like the style of the design. It’s subtly different from the others, which have are fluid and geometric; instead, it’s more sketch-like and natural. I like how the abstraction of the idea is handled here — the long stalks and circles imply a crowd of people in a really interesting way. They also somewhat resemble a field of corn, though that may just be the yellow ink.
All Altman Tees shirts are unisex American Apparel and cost you $22 without the coupon.
