He creates the art, silkscreens the tees, ships the orders… truly impressive stuff. The brand’s motto is “Androids Always Win!”, a cute little phrase you’ll see on almost every tee in the store. It’s a great example of subtle but effective branding, showing that you don’t always have to plaster your company name in huge letters to link your product to your name.
If you like simple but bold shirts with a touch of sci-fi, you should head on over to their store. As far as designs go The Dept. is on the minimalistic side, but the futuristic feel gives the shirts flavor. I love how simple bars are used to create the shape of a spaceship in “The Force!“, available in both blue and red. It’s almost logo-like in its quality — it’s easy to take in, but very impactful.
This shirt gives me a sense of nostalgia, for some reason — perhaps it’s the Star Wars-esque type? Or the whimsical style of the space ship? Either way, a really cool tee. I like this navy color way (this shirt is also available in red) since it goes better with the white and light blue.
