Sam of FAQ was kind enough to email me some information about his company. Being the design director (awesome title!), he likely has a much better perspective on his brand, so I’ll just be copying and pasting his words here:
FAQ is basically an emerging brand known for its minimal and simplistic graphics with its own twist on pop culture.
Our tshirts are theme bases and we currently have 3 collections to choose from.
Just to give you a brief of what each line represents; The first one “Hotlust” has a summer feel good look to it. A lot of pastels & bright vivid colors that really make the graphics pop! The second one, “Forecast” is a mini collection consisting of different weather patterns. The last one is “Downturn”, a reflection on today’s bad economy. It consists of everything from the economic downfall to the frustration of the average person.

The stuff at FAQ is drop-dead gorgeous to begin with, but what makes this company really cool are their themed lines. Each has their own idea, general color palette, and visual style. However, they’re all unified by the minimalist, modern art style I just can’t get enough of. It’s hard to pick a favorite collection — I’m on the fence between Hot Lust and Downturn. The above shirt is “Electra” from the Hot Lust collection, and is probably one of the only designs I’ve ever seen that makes a light yellow shirt look good.
The themes extend to three different “mystery boxes”, which are essentially grab-bags that allow you to get three shirts at a pretty heavy discount. (Shirts are normally $24, and go down to about $16 when bought through the mystery boxes.) Each of the box designs corresponds to one of the three collections, and they’re totally the kind of packaging I’d save and reuse.
I also highly recommend taking a peek at FAQ’s Lookbook, which features some great photography of their tees. It also allows you to see their UV-sensitive prints in action!
