For my first (real) post, I will be featuring an indie brand that has recently caught my eye: 410 BC. Their Winter 09 line has just been released, but thanks to the limited quantities and yesterday’s crazy 50% off sale, many designs are already sold out. (Cross your fingers for a reprint!)
Like the Fall 09 line, these designs make use of an eclectic mash-up of classical imagery and modern art aesthetics. They are slightly more muted and subtle than their predecessors — an appropriate change for the winter months. Many employ a square or rectangle-shaped print, a technique which often looks awkward on t-shirts, but as usual, 410 BC manages to pull it off with artistic flair. It’s a very sophisticated, unique look overall, and quite different from their first few lines.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the change. If you ask me, way too many brands rely on bold, brightly-colored graphics; I love 410 BC’s understated but elegant art.
Even though the 50% Halloween coupon is no longer active, you can still get a good 20% off your order with coupon code FOURTEN. Want to bump that up to 30%? Help promote the brand and the kind 410 BC folks will give you one as thanks for your time.
Furthermore, if you preorder one of these two shirts (Absit Omen or Tarot), you will be entered into a drawing for one of three prize packs of FIVE TEES EACH! It certainly helps that the preorder tees are just as classy and appealing as the rest of 410 BC’s product.
Below you may find a couple of my favorites from this collection.
