I think most young boys (and probably some girls) go through a dinosaur phase; playing with model dinosaurs, reading books about them, visiting museums, learning facts about them and boring their parents with them (did you know the T-Rex weighed as much as a double decker bus?).
In my first post for Tee-Junction, for all the dinosaur fans out there, here’s my top eleven dinosaur tees (in no particular order).
1. I Love Dinosaurs
If you prefer Megalosaurus to Manhattan, this is the tee for you.
2. Dinosaurs Against Creationism
Ban T-shirts never shy away from the controversial – and this t-shirt is no exception. Stick two fingers up at the “Intelligent-Design” crowd, by flaunting this clever anti-creationist creation (or by becoming a pastafarian like me).
3. Super Predator
In a new take on an old design, David Murray here reimagines his best-selling Sandwich Dinosaur in an oversized print using discharge ink for extra softness. Get 10% off anything in store at Seibei, with the discount code “JMG“.
4. Ask Me About Dinosaurs
A great ice-breaker at parties - just make sure you know your Archaeopteryx from your Archaeoceratops.
5. You Are What You Eat (That’s Why I Only Eat Dinosaurs)
I’m pretty sure this t-shirt isn’t meant to be taken this seriously. Don’t try this at home, kids.
6. DINO FRENZY
Designer Mr Nicolo had this to say about his insanely large ten colour t-rex print:
“I just wanted to do like a retro like dinosaur cuz I got funny idea of a serious dinosaur that looks funny with its colors.”
Whatever the reasoning behind it, it’s awesome.
7. T-Rex’s Busy Day
A simple and surreal graphic - also available as a hoodie.
8. Safe Keeping
No stranger to the community-voting system, designer Glenn Jones is giving visitors to his website Glennz the chance to vote on which of his latest designs become t-shirts.
9. T-Rex Drums
If Nero fiddled while Rome burned, did T-Rex drum during the asteroid collision? Amorphia Apparel thinks so. This design is available in a range of colours, and with optional mushroom cloud. Hat tip: Tee Connoisseur.
10. Rippin’ Rex
I’m afraid this one’s only available in kids sizes. But really, why? What rational adult wouldn’t want a trompe-l’œil T-Rex bursting from their chest? Or is that just me? Oh, just me? Ok then…
11. If History Repeats Itself, I’m Totally Getting A Dinosaur
This terrific Tyrannosaurus type tee is new today at Threadless.
Here’s a dinosaur-related pop-culture t-shirt idea for you: A T-Rex riding a white swan.
