Another day, another winter line!
As the neon colors on the layout imply, Pyknic Clothing has a very loud, very bright design style. And as the name implies, that style is based on a culinary theme. I can’t say I was ever a big fan of Pyknic because some of the designs were far too haphazard and it almost seemed like they were made crazy and colorful for the sake of being crazy and colorful — it was just too much of a visual overload. The hoodies are most guilty of this. I mean, they are kinda cool in that sense, but nothing I’d ever be caught dead wearing.
Thus, I was happy to see that the newest line, which was released a few days ago, is much more restrained. The designs are simpler and have less random splattering of the visual elements. Everything just looks a lot more organized, and I applaud Pyknic for this change. This line is sure to appeal to a lot more people now.
I’m a big fan of the Lucky’s Lunch shirt, which is based on the traditional Japanese maneki neko, also known as the ‘fortune cat’. This design also comes in a limited edition version on a yellow tee, and is delivered in a custom take out box, which is a very neat idea.
