Another season, another great release from David Murray at SEIBEI. This line brings us four new shirts in addition to a crewneck sweatshirt, prints, and a tote bag.
Of the new shirts, “Mutant Uprising” is my favorite. I like the simple, blocky style and the way the text is integrated into the graphic. The red monster peeking out from behind makes the design pop, offering a nice accent in contrast to the white, black, and cyan of the shield. This design is also available as a crew neck sweatshirt, in case you prefer something warmer!
I think “Superpredators” — a classic SEIBEI design, and also the star of many of its new art prints — already works well in its brighter-colored incarnation, but I can’t fault David for offering a more muted look to those who don’t like wearing neon colors. This is far and away my favorite SEIBEI design for its simplicity and appropriately gigantic print, so the more colorways, the better! Though I think that when I finally get around to purchasing it, I’ll get the one on Aqua. It just looks more fun that way. (Gotta love the facial expression in that model photo, though.)
