I have a bit of a pet fascination with space, probably thanks to my geeky love of sci-fi. As a result, I love shirts that show the vastness and mystery of deep space, which this tee by Glamour Kills does. “Deep Space” is a self-explanatory tee with an awesome all-over print depicting bright nebulae, comets, and distant stars against a dark black sky. There aren’t any stray astronauts (though I love astronauts!), spaceships, or other space-y visual elements: the sole focus of this design is space and the celestial bodies that occupy it. It’s flashy, as GK shirts are, but the monochromatic color scheme keeps it from being gaudy, and I appreciate that the logo — since it has to be there, for some reason — is small and inconspicuous. I love the way the large white nebula cloud wraps over the right shoulder and chest — it creates visual interest — though I could see the shirt being equally effective without it as well.
Overall, a well-done, tasteful all-over print that stands out amongst Glamour Kills’ teen hipster-targeted offerings. They should really do more of these, instead of recycling the same old giant-type-and-bright-colors idea they’ve been using since forever.
You can also use coupon code markylovesu to save 30% on your order. That reduces this particular tee to around $15! I haven’t tested the code myself, but recent comments on Retailmenot.com say that it works, so go for it.
